Migraine prevention
Migraines can shape your whole week, from planning around them to the days you lose to them. Many people come to me looking for help with migraine prevention alongside the care they already have from their GP.
Getting to know your pattern
Everyone's migraines are different. We'll talk about how often they happen, what seems to come before them, and what's going on in your life, such as sleep, screens, posture, stress and hormones. It can help to bring a note of your recent migraines to your first visit.
How I work
I'll look at how your neck, upper back, shoulders and the rest of your spine are moving together. I use McTimoney, a gentle technique with light, precise adjustments. (Find out more about McTimoney) I work alongside your GP, not instead of them, so please keep taking any medication you've been prescribed.
If your headaches are more linked to neck stiffness, you may also find my (Neck pain and headaches) page helpful.
When to get urgent help
Call 999 or go to A&E if you have a sudden, severe headache unlike any before, or a headache with weakness, slurred speech, confusion, a stiff neck with fever, or changes to your vision.
